My fee is $38/hour.
If you prefer, we can do a per-word fee, broken down below. On average, I can edit ten pages of fiction per hour. Non-fiction (especially with citations) takes a little longer. It can be anywhere from 6 to 10 pages an hour. If you’d like to submit a random page from your work, I will edit it for free, and let you know how long it took.
Copy Editing – .07 per word
I’m no longer charging a different fee for proofreading because most of the time it ends up as a copyedit. If it’s a true proofread, the hourly rate can apply, and proofreading won’t take as long as a copy edit.
250-word minimum
For documents, such as scans, where I cannot run a word count, prices will be based on an average page size: 250 words for a double-spaced page and 500 words for a single-spaced document.
A word count will be run when I receive the document.
